Title:It's been awhile....

So yeah it has been awhile since I have posted. I guess I have gotten lost in my own thoughts, disabled of the ability to share. Let's see my last post was towards the end of November...well alot of things have happened since then. I have had my fair share of both ups and downs to say the least. I have no idea what to share, and what to share first. I suppose I can  share a little about my uncertainty about my mos choice (35F Intel Analyst) as you may have noticed from my previous posts I wasn't very enthused about my mos choice. Seeing as I had only picked it for Airborne, since the other mos's weren't much more interesting either. So while on FS chat and was asking about Reno's out of shear curiosity, well I guess my question got relayed back to my recruiter. So not too long afterwards I had received  a call from my recruiter wondering what's going on...I explained to him that I'd much prefer a more active mos. He was all for helping me reno, but the SC kinda shut it down. And said towards May if I'm still serious about it , to ask again. *sigh* oh well at least I know my recruiter somewhat cares.... As for whether or not I'll approach him again about a reno is still up in the air.
Some downs is that I kinda have been getting a feeling of no trust with my recruiter from previous conversations and events of the sort. I'm not gonna go into detail, but as of right now I don't feel like I can rely on him as a recruiter like I should. Hopefully that will change, if not, I'll move on.

Wow I'm getting really tired...I'll have to finish this update tomorrow. So toodles!

PT BELT CREED
This is my PT Belt. There are many like it, bit this one is mine.My PT Belt is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I master my life.My PT Belt, without me, is useless. Without my PT Belt, i am useless.I must wear my PT Belt True. I must reflect brighter than any driver who is trying to kill me. I must reflect to him before he hits me. I will....

My PT Belt and I know that what counts in this war is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the smoke we make. We know that it is our reflection that count. We will reflect....

My PT Belt is Human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strengths, its parts, its accessories, its sights and its buckle. I will keep my PT Belt clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will....

Before God I swear this creed. My PT Belt and I are the reflectors of my country. We are the masters of our adversary. We are the saviors of my life. So be it, until safety is America's and there is no adversary, but Peace.

Title:Enlisted as of 20101022

I finally enlisted yesterday!!!
I, XXXXXXX XXXXXXX, do solemnly swear  that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

I originally had 35F Intelligence Analyst with Airborne in my contract, but was told yesteday on the way to the hotel yesteday that I could not have airborne since I had a medical waiver. So yes I was very upset since airborne was a reason that I had chosen the 35F MOS. But eventually I got over it, Sergeant C the station commander told me that when I am in AIT I should get doen on my hands and knees and beg my drill sergeant everyday for airborne, until he gets annoyed and gives it to me. I just might have to do that, but I don't think I will have to since I am reading that Airborne Units are in nedd of 35F's. At first I was definately going to change my mos at meps but then they went thorugh so much work in getting the top secrurity clearence prepped, I felt bad. Besides going into Intel can be very beneficial also promotions come by faster. And it is only 3 years and 32 weeks, and I can either get out, reenlist and reclass, or reinlist as a 35F. I guess time will tell.

Haha..did I mention I basically got stalked my Marine Recruiters Tuesday, geez...do they ever get excited hearing that I have completed my ASVAB and Physical. Even though I was swearing into the army the next day! They still came after me! haha..oh well should have done what sergeant M said to do, and give them a fake address in lala land. but nahh I'm not that mean....well most of the time anyways.

BTW: cannot believe I forgot to add this, I ship out 20100810 or August 10, 2010 to Fort Jackson in South Carolina. So wish my ship date could have been earlier I was hoping like the day afterI get my diploma, lol. And then after BCT I goto Fort Huahchuca in Arizona for five months for my AIT, and hopefully I can manage to scrapp Airborne while I am there, and head off to Benning for three weeks. If not then off to my first duty station.

This all for now.

Title:All my prayers and thought are with those affected by Fort Hood

Well let me start out by saying that all my prayers and thoughts are with the soldiers and their families who were affected by Thursday's shootings at Fort Hood. It is so sad that something like this had to happen on our own american soldier, even worse it was one of our own that had done it to us. Not only was it a fellow soldiers it was a medical officer, a soldier who was suppose to help our soldiers in time of need, instead he had problems himself and din't know how to handle them right. But enough on that subject, i could go on and on ranting.

Well I finally did my orientation on Wednesday, nothing excited at all really. Just sign a few papers, listened to a quick yet almost pointless lecture, recieved a paper with my ako username and pass, and voila I was done. Was told to show up at a different station in Lapeer on Thursdays for Future Soldiers Training, so I did and guess who was there my recruiter! I guess all he wanted was my contract which I guess I was suppose to bring to him at the orientation. Oops guess I forgot, but anywhoo he's got it now. Then he sent me back on my way, and said to see him in two weeks. So now I am more confused then informed, am i suppose to still be going to these future soldiers meetings at lapeer or just see him in two weeks? *sigh* I guess time will tell. Also been talking to some more friends online who are either already in the army or have just previously enlisted, and they told me about the future soldiers website, and told me to do the training there which can speed up my promotion progress. So I've done a little bit of that, not much though because my recruiter never told me to do that stuff, so I rally don't want to step on his toes or anything. i respect those guys too much.

Why is it when you go to tell someone that you are going into the military they think you are crazy and stupid, and disrespect your decision. Especially when a model figure does it such as my coach, who I used to look up to so much, not so much now. Somehow when we were texting it cam up and I told him and these were his exacts remarks.

"What. don't do that. Military Sucks. R U crazy?

"Yes it's bad. They promis everything and give nothing. Only good in Airforce and it you do full 20yrs and retire. Army and Marines bad."

"military should be a no go for you.Go to school get a degree. No army. I'm trying to save u."
(trying to save me??? haha..best thing he can do is support me and let me go, especially in these times.)

"No, they lie, they lie. U need another plain...a better one."
(my recruiter has yet to tell me a lie, he told me straight up so far. one of the first things he told me was that I have a great chance for deploying. I was fine with that, i'm not gonna join the army not willing to do my turn overseas.)

"That college thing is the lie they get most people on. "
(No coach, those are the people who do not sign up for the g.i. bill at first, and later on regret not doing so.)

"U need help and a new direction."
(I guess I must be mental for wanting to join the military, suppose I better call a therapist right away.)

and I heard from his son who happens to be one of my best friends who is much more mature then his own father respects my decision, that for several weeks all he heard was how mental, stupid, special ed, and all kinds of other crapp about me. And this is coming from a coach who should be a model figure, and certainly not bash one of his fighters like this not to mention I think he could of used the military much more than me as he never graduated high school, had a kid at seventeen, and lives with his mother. Also he needs to stop worrying about my life so much and worry about his own since his 18yr old daughter is prego and just told him a few weeks ago and is due in December, because she is so scared of him! let's just say I don't talk to him much anymore, I cannot depend on him to work my corner if he cannot respect my dreams or me for that matter. believe me there are many more people who tell me crazy, but I expect that, I just didn't expect it from my coach. Sorry for ranting, I just had to get this out
As far as my enlistment goes it has been 3 days since meps, and I am already starting to get anxious about my waiver. This is not good, I hope what my liaison officer says is true, that my waiver should come back within five days it sure would be nice. But I am trying not too get my hopes up too much, but that seems to be inevitable, lol. Secretly I am dreaming that sgt. m and sgt. w will give me good news when they come to out school on Thursday to do their thing.
